Almost three quarters of us will suffer with chronic foot pain over the course of our lives, this chronic pain is frequently caused by underlying structural issues in the foot. Abnormal biomechanics can place excess strain on the soft tissues in the foot leading to chronic pain and recurrent injuries.
Custom-made orthotics adjust the biomechanical function of the foot, corrects your gait and reduces strain on the soft tissues of the lower limb.
At AA Podiatry we work to understand why your foot is having to roll in (pronate), or why your foot isn’t rolling in enough (supinate). There’s no one perfect way of walking and moving, so we need to understand whether your movement is a good thing for you or not, and whether your foot is working to help your ankle and knee, your hip and pelvis and your spine or working against them and causing the pain.
An orthotic device is used to re-time the movements of your foot, and change the effect of those movements on your leg. This may be a permanent requirement for you, or you may only need orthotics for a short time while you recover from injury or carry out stretches and strengthening exercises to allow your joints to work better.
AA Podiatry offer a wide range of orthotic devices & insoles ranging from ‘over the counter’ models to fully bespoke insoles for customers suffering from arch, heel and knee pain in Glasgow and the surrounding area including Hamilton, Motherwell, East Stirling, Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and the rest of Lanarkshire.
