Warm Wax Benefits

Heat therapy increases blood flow, pain tolerance, relaxes muscles and increases hydration.  Paraffin wax softens hardened skin and increases the skin’s elasticity, improving mobility.

In addition to this, warm wax therapy moisturises feet while providing a therapeutic effect to sore and aching joints.  This makes it particularly beneficial to individuals suffering from:

  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Chilblains
  • Eczema and psoriasis
  • Sore muscles
  • Stiff joints
  • Scar tissue
  • Inflammation
  • Muscles spasms
  • Tendonitis
  • Sport injuries
  • Scleroderma
  • Bad circulation

How does Warm Wax Therapy Work?

When heat is applied to aching areas of the body, it dilates blood vessels.  This encourages blood to rush to the affected area and flush out toxins.  The blood also brings oxygen to the site, which helps repair soft tissue, encourages muscle tone and relaxes muscle contractions.

Heat therapy also lessens the severity of pain.

During your Appointment

Your feet are exfoliated and then submerged in a warm foot spa containing beneficial Epsom soaking salts which promote stress relief and reduced pain and swelling.

Your podiatrist then massages warm oil onto your feet.

Finally, a warm paraffin wax is slowly brushed onto the skin.  We use single, hygienic wax pods and a sterilised soft brush to apply the therapeutic wax, giving a luxurious and relaxing experience.

Your feet are then encased in cling film and wrapped in warm towels.  The wax is left to set (around 10 minutes) before being gently peeled off.  At the end of the appointment a luxury balm is massaged into your feet, leaving them soft and relaxed.
